I just read this and would echo your statements about the temperature differential which was indigenous to Pasadena at this time of the year. I remember one year it was so cold that several of us piled into my old '55 and ran the engine and heater all night. By morning, the battery was dead and we'd used over a half a tank of ethyl which then sold for the priestly sum of about 24.9 per. Yup, I had some 'splainin to do!
