Panos,

Without being an expert in the specifics of the IPG technology (NY Stew what do you think?) I would guess that any search and advertising capabilities that GMST will develop in the TV product will be easily transferred to the e-books product.

First, I am not an expert by any measure. Both search and advertising functions were addressed by Henry during the conference call this week. The eBooks will have such. I am not certain that full IPG functionality will integrated but my thoughts are open thanks, in part, to a post from Mike on another thread.

On another note, Gemstar added more talented engineers to its arsenal including one that holds the Mac mouse patent and others from the Palm Pilot engineering research team. My thinking is that one plus one plus one is greater than three here. Henry is a builder of barriers, both as a scientist and as an attorney.

Only a few years back there were many aspiring IPG companies. Gemstar acquired E Guide, VideoGuide and StarSight very early. His vision is uncommon in my opinion. He also continues to build what Stephens' Corcoran described as a think tank of world class engineers but I believe that when it is all said and done he will be acknowledged most for his business model. What Gemstar is attempting to do would be analogous to Qualcomm receiving revenue each and every time a phone call or data transfer is made via its CDMA technology. It is difficult for me to find a better analogy and is by no means meant as a slight to the Q.

Regards
Stew
