I don't accept torture. It's obvious that the beatings, electric shocks and other forms of painful torture have no place in a civilized society, even among uncivilized enemies.

I suggested that torture is ineffective as a means of interrogation. This is what I have read. Experts in interrogation universally say that information gained under duress and physical pain is useless.

There are means of interrogation that are effective, which do not involve torture. Those are the means that I advocate. I offered the notion of sodium pentathol as an alternative to physical torture in response to Nadine's fantasy situation, but I defer to the experts in this case.

There are new technological means at our disposal that should be brought to the forefront. They involve brain scans which show promise of being able to detect when someone is lying. I suggest that we pursue these means further, while relying on the best known methods of interrogation.

Torture is ineffective by all accounts. Do you have definitive evidence that torture yields results? If so provide a link to this authoritative source.
