John, you and I are about the same age and grew up in a totally different system. In our day, we said the pledge of allegiance every morning in class. Our teachers taught reading, writing, arithmatic, geography, History including AMERICAN history. Our heroes were people like Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone, (bet you wore a "coonskin hat" like I did at times), Kit Carson and the like. We respected our laws, any adult could give us a "crack" (only our crack was on the bottom not something we smoked), if we misbehaved. All that is gone now, and IMHO we are THE WORSE OFF because its gone. jdn
