Australia just began a down-turn in real estate prices . smh.com.au

To the extent this affects the Australian economy, the AUD will decline in value, along with the value of FAX and IAF, especially if the Reserve Board reduces interest rates to support the economy.

The collapse of the post-9/11 real estate bubble in America led to a rise in the value of the USD because it reversed an excess creation of Dollars. There's a slim chance of this alternate outcome happening, but the fact the AUD is not the reserve currency works against this result.
