Albert, strongARM came with. its right there in the story you cited "Intel also gains control of Digital's StrongARM processor technology,...." There was another technology license renewal negotiation that was done a year or so later - but that was necessary whether it was Intel or DEC.

I agree that no defendant should be presumed guilty. From a PR standpoint nobody likes to have these kinds of suits in process, but most of them go away one way or another - few ever get in front of a jury. That's what good pragmatic management is for. Sometimes its best for stockholders to settle something and get back to business.
