Hi mepci. Re: market jitters are more about the
high p/es.

You are probably right. However, PE's have not been
a fashionable metric over the last several years.

Nobody has really ever been able to figure out how
to accurately value a stock in a certain industry.
Investors just make valuations happen, then we all
find plenty of ways to justify the current valuation
climate. PEG, ROIC, FCF, ROE etc, you name it,
we'll find a way to affix a value to it and make
it so in our collective investment community minds.

As far as somebody knowing something everyone else
doesn't.... I would'nt bet on it. Nobody knows
anything in my book -- they just SWAG. Very highly
regarded analysts who do this for a living wind up
looking silly on a regular basis. Poor Niles...
OUCH! What bad timing to finally publicly turn
bullish on Intel's Q3 prospects.

If enough people fear that PE's will revert back
to where they were during the days when the economy
could not grow too much without inflation and
productivity gains could only be achieved through
employment growth, then it will become so.

And we will justify it.

But as long as technology continues to have the
same impact on the economy as it currently does,
we will come to the conclusion that we were wrong
and stocks should be worth much more than they are.

What were we thinking?
