What you say is true, but the tape tells me that people were expecting an announcement by Friday specifically because that was the deadline for CHEM to be accretive this quarter. We touched 9 Thursday, and the bid is now at 8 5/16 again. I also saw many large blocks over 12K on the sell. I assume they knew that short term momentum would drop without the finalization, and they got out in the mid to high 8's. Maybe they knew it wouldn't be announced this week, I don't know. either way, there is more uncertainty of meeting estimates WITHOUT the announcement than with. Sure would've helped momentum. It's just another expectation gone unrealized, whether it was theirs or ours. The tape tells me that buyers wanted an announcement by Friday. We'll see what happens next week, but I see mid 7's as a possibility before any meaningful buying comes in again. I hope I'm wrong, but I think I'm right. BTW, I also agree that long term, it doesn't matter. I am speaking short term only.
