I care about irony or I wouldn't have posted it. We obviously disagree on this one. Teachers, as far as I know, aren't charged with securing the "homeland". Sure- they're "in loco parentis", or so we say- but they really have little to no authority over their little demonic charges- not that I mind the little demons myself, but when you can't take away the nintendo, you don't really have any power. And nurturing? Well maybe in the lower grades, but middle school is about whips and chairs.

And plenty of actual parents (mostly dads) are raping their daughters- if you want to go in to the "parentis" idea... Parents molesting their children is too common to be ironic.

The irony, imo, is about people charged with the job of keeping the homeland "safe" committing crimes. If you don't see the irony, you don't see the irony.
