Hi Mike,

The bid size and ask size have been relativly small. The MM is making his money on volume today. Most of the larger trades seemed to be going across at ask although it was hard to tell this morning with the rapid changes.

Novell has managed to capture the attention of Wall Street. I think a number of things have contributed to this. Recent ads in the Wall Street Journal. A lot of public appearances by Eric Schmidt. Novell has been in the top ten share volume a number of times in the last month. The big thing right now I believe is based on technical analysis. There are a lot of players that do nothing but TA based trading. There are things happening in the charts in the last month and a half that make Novell attractive. There have been a couple brokerage firms that have put buy recomendations on NOVL. In spite of my opinion that Schmidt screwed up on earnings he's done a lot of positive things in a short period of time.

I think a lot of people have been watching and waiting for earnings before jumping in. I don't think it mattered what earnings were as long as there was three month of trading before they had to be faced again.

Schmidt has an oppurtunity to turn some decent numbers next quarter. What they might be is a mystery to me. There are some wild cards in the deck. Why did he miss by $80 million last quarter? And, what will Border Manager contribute to the bottom line this quarter?

I expected todays action to take place over a period of a week or so. Sure didn't think it would happen all in one day.

It held support this morning and has broken through yesterdays high so it should continue to move up for awhile. Nice double bottom pattern. Now to see if it can break through upper resistance.

Regards,

Don
