This is something I received which I hope you will read and take the time to send the email Mr. Green requests. He is attempting to get the IRSs to grant "retroactive" mark to market elections for traders who missed them in 1999 forward and who incurred large trading losses for which they are not able to file NOL returns at present. I know quite a few people who fall into that category and I think this is a worthwhile endeavor. I've been audited by the IRS on my trading tax returns and they are getting aggressive. Mr. Green is an excellent trader's tax accountant (I do not work for him) and provides free advice on his website which is definitely worth reading. If any of you missed the mark to market elections in 1999, 2000 or 2001 and hope to ever be able to file a NOL return, you need to read this and send the email he requests. Thank you.
