While it was true that they were enemies, the operative word here is were. Last yr. Saddam let it be known, Iraq would harbor Al qaeda operatives. And in fact several were in Bagdhad last summer, one for medical treatment. While he was there, Rice said yesterday, Iraq was asked to deport him, and Saddam refused. Now there is a chem. lab, in the north, reportedly under Unser al islam control, but with an Iraq operative overseeing the project. Last wk, it was reported 8 members of the Egyptian wing of Al qaeda was in Bagdhad. The bonds seem to be growing, and could be fatal if we don't do something soon.
