I agree - to me as far as the server market / E-Commerce SunW are by far and away the leaders. I was only speculating where the competition would come in the future. A lot of concern and discussion is giving to NT and LINUX but I think the threat could be IBM.

I found the article on IBMs new wonder computer interesting as it presented the old dinosaur main frame being ideal for number crunching
and could cope with unexpected demand from users. For unix to cope with the extra demand - you would have to have unused spare computing power to one side ready.

Its on Server/E-Commerce that I see the run up in Suns stock price - so to me the question is pertinent - Is IBM a valid threat to Sun going into the year 2000 ?
