We absolutely did. Why did we do this? Because we had made this commitment to the G.D. UN.

People talk about Bush 41 having "made a mistake" by not going to Baghdad. WRONG. The mistake was in getting UN approval beforehand. And here we are being screwed by them again.

All the more reason for telling the UN to shove it and doing what the hell we think needs to be done. And that is precisely what is going to happen in short order if the UN doesn't get their act together.
