I seriously do think they're losing their minds. Have you heard about the Dean Johnson deal?

Johnson’s been in the legislature a long time, good reputation, Brigadier General in the Minnesota National Guard, is in trouble for telling the most amazing bald faced lie.

There is a movement to amend the state constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman. In December Johnson had a meeting with some clergy (someone taped the meeting) where he tried to convince them to call off the effort. Unnecessary he says because he talked to every member of the Mn Supreme Court and all assured him that they would not touch the current Defense Of Marriage law. Amazingly, he seems not to have realized that in telling this lie he was accusing the justices of a horrendous ethics violation.

Of course as soon as they heard of this all the justices came out and denied they had ever or would ever talk to him or any other legislator about this.

Now the Republicans are calling on him to resign and the democrats are accusing the republicans of playing politics.

They’re all nuts. Not that the repubs don't have a good point. Who could ever trust Johnson's judgement again?
