"January Effect" Is not that as January goes so goes the market. That is a theory, but the January effect is a period that stocks that have been sold off for tax loss selling, further depressing their prices, receive a bounce due to buying in January. However, in recent years, tax loss selling has started as early as late October, and the January effect has taken place in December. Ascend is a prime candidate for this theory this year...
