Of course it's unfortunate.

What does the notion that the "cruel and unusual" clause in our constitution is regrettable have to do with Singleton? Talk about baby and bathwater.

He could have been stopped without violating the constitution. The ACLU sometimes wins cases they shouldn't. When they win in a case like that, my fantasy is, speaking of cruel and unusual punishments, that their staff be required to take the offender into their own homes for a coupla months each for a few years after his release. He could do nanny-duty, so it would be convenient for them.
