Ted RE... think Kuwait is to the south. I think they want to stage a two prong attack from the north and south. If Turkey is out, I was figuring the next staging area in q friendly country would be Italy but I think there is one in Cyprus which is closer.

It is also possible, some of the troops could be landed in Israel. We have permission to overfly Jordan, if we can't go by land; I am not sure of precisely what Jordan has allowed.
