Genesis is involved in the origin of many video images. The fabless company designs integrated circuits (ICs) that translate video images for viewing in flat-panel displays, consumer video products, and digital TVs. Its chips also filter and refresh images, process videos, and enhance high-volume displays. Customers use Genesis ICs in their flat-panel computer monitors (more than 70% of sales), DVD equipment, and medical imaging devices. Customers in Asia account for more than three-quarters of sales; top clients include IBM, Philips, Samsung Electronics, and Sony. The company has annouced that it will acquire Sage, which makes specialized digital display processors, in a deal worth about $240 million.

Next Expected Earnings Date is Jan 17, 2002 - Expectations are for GNSS to earn 34 cents per share:

Conclusion: GNSS is a leading supplier of integrated circuits that receive and process digital video and graphic images. The company has been actually growing earnings during the recent economic downturn. On the 17 quarterly earnings of 34 cents are expected. This year earnings of 1.04 are expected. Next year those numbers move up to 1.50 for the year. The stock's performance and earning's expectations provide plenty of evidence that additional growth can be expected in the future for GNSS. Obviously with the stock at or near a 52 week high there is some risk if GNSS misses its expected earnings numbers on the 17th. Assuming the company makes the expected numbers this quarter and gives good forward guidance an entry point of 65 might be the best an investor could expect in advance of the earnings release. The small float of the stock almost guarantees a stock split in the future if the company continues its rapid growth.

I have no position in GNSS. I just wanted to give an example of how we could share information here on various stocks. Don cannot be expected to supply data in his tables on all the semiconductors we would like to discuss but we can discuss many stocks not on the lists in enough depth to familiarize us all with the companies and potential stock performance.

Our posts can be used to link very valuable information for everyone concerned.
