Daniel, If you look closely into the fundamentals of just about any internet co. you'll see things that by conventional standards don't look good. These things don't hold back the rise of internet stocks. If you focus on fundamentals, you wouldn't buy any internet stock and you'd probably end up losing a fortune shorting it. Mass psychology and momentum are the keys here. And the focus is on the future prospects, not the past or present fundamentals.
