The "By Age" section of that poll is interesting. We Baby Boomers were relentlessly bombarded with anti-communist, anti-socialist, anti-union propaganda in our formative years. I even read Masters of Deceit: The Story of Communism in America by J. Edgar Hoover in the early 1960's when I was in my early teens. It was suggested reading for a civics or history course.
