Lindy, people are making the same fatal error that is being made in New Zealand and has been made in Germany, Holland etc.

Dopey Eurobabyboomers who arrogantly think that the rest of the world is just itching to care for them in their dotage in gratitude for being handed the family homestead will be awfully surprised when the newcomers vote for the same approach they had in their homelands, which is that people should provide for themselves or have their families look after them.
Even the children of the baby boomers are not likely to want to spend their lives working for silly old hippie fools who didn't provide for themselves during decades of easy living [though they might throw their own parents a bone if they are in a good relationship].
I do NOT think that the swarms of Moslems, Chinese and Indians that New Zealand has been importing are going to be in the slightest interested in spending their time looking after me unless I can pay them. Even if I can pay them, they might even decide that they can use my money for their own purposes and I'm too old to waste it on, so they might pass laws to take it away from me[having attained majority or strong electoral influence]. Voluntary euthanasia is still illegal, but might be legalized and even made compulsory [or almost if no state care is provided].
Moslems have shown the tolerant but stupid Dutch what they think of them. A dagger into the chest, with a message pinned, and throat slashed open. A Van Gogh at that!! That's really sticking it to them. Like killing a direct descendant of Mohammed [the peace be upon him bloke]. Danish cartoonists pointing out exactly that hideously violent response to disobedience of Islamic rules would get the same if they could do it. The cartoonists are in hiding with protection. Can the whole society be protected and in hiding? They'd better be able to or learn to bow towards Mecca when ordered to do so.
My ancestors and I spent lifetimes building roads, bridges, dams, canals, airports, sewerage, hospitals, parks, wharves, schools, telecommunications, power stations, water supplies, educated people and civilized laws [give or take a bit]. Now, stupidly, we simply hand it over to people who will not even say thank you before pushing us aside and taking control of it all for themselves. They don't have to do anything bad, or wrong to do it, just comply with our laws and vote according to their own interests.
Dumb Kiwis don't understand the value of what they are giving away.
