Now have a dog that the wife brought home from the pound. Year old shepard airedale cross that had no training or socialization. Wilder than a March hare. Wife unit bought a shock collar. Told me to walk around the yard after she got him wound up and she'd shock him before he attacked me. He hit me in the back hard enough to knock me down twice and bit my arm once and my leg twice before she hit the button. I'll do it again tomorrow but I'll be holding the button.

That's why I'm getting a pup. Our last two dogs were rescue dogs, and we thought we were doing a good thing to take them in (we were), but both dogs had real issues as a result of their early upbringing.

No more.

I'm gonna start with a clean slate and mold a SUPERDOG!!!

Some folks say a pup is a lot of trouble, but in hindsight, with these last two dogs, we had our hands full and they ultimately created a lot more issues in the household than if we'd started with a pup.

What is it Wolters says? That by the time the dog is 4 months old, it's brain is fully developed? That means that first 3-4 months of socialization and training is just critical.
