These all huge cap stocks, greatly influenced by noted analyst comments and sensitive to any earnings disappointments. And because of that volatility plus that fact every analyst in the business wants to talk about them I find it impossible to feel safe in owning them. Same applies to Orcl and Csco. Cant comment on your shorting, not much experience. But neither Dell or Intc should go lower. I don't mess around with Dell much now, but it appears one could buy at 27 and then sell or short at 35 to 38. I'm into storage, wireless and fibre, trying to handle the volatility by selling covered calls and buying them back on dips. Works good so far. Regards Sig
