Then why not buy a junior at $0.50 that will go to $50 (as many would)?
If gold doesn't go at least you do not lose it all and you certainly have better liquidity. You have to look at both sides of the market.

Gold may go as high as you say but buying a way out of the money warrant with less than a year left on a laggard stock seems foolish IMO.
There is also a scenario where gold goes to $490-$540 one more time before going higher.
