Smithee, It is indeed laughable. Both mph and I have used the IBM Executive, the forerunner of the Composer. We can probably say without fear of contradiction that no such piece of equipment EVER found its way into a military office. To use either for routine memos, correspondence, reports, would be just too nerve-racking.

I agree, a Royal, an Underwood, even a Remington, and probably a manual typewriter is what was used. I think about that time (circa 1972-73) Smith-Corona had gone to producing only portable typewrites, but I could be wrong. - Holly
