tejek,

re:on your way back to the capital?

I rarely travel north, I do the Portland run a lot though.

re: I find women particularly seem to have trouble getting in and out of places.

Why you sexist bastard!! <g>

re:Do you agree or do you find the Sierra more of a hassle than the SUVs?

I had an SUV when I lived in Long Beach CA, it was great for carrying all my dive gear to Laguna Beach. It was a GMC Jimmy, I also drove it up to Yosemite a few times and a few runs to "The City" - never a bit of trouble parking. Of course the car I drove was a Honda Accord, they had about the same wheel base so I never noticed much difference. That said the SUV was nice in my daily commute to El Segundo from Long Beach up the 405 as I could see the worst traffic lanes before I was on top of the traffic and could avoid problems, some times.

The Sierra is a lot more trouble to park, especially when I go to Bally Fitness three times a week. Their parking lot seems to be designed for Honda Civics and other rice rockets. Fortunately, I bought the wife a Civic so it's not an issue for her. We take her car when we know we'll be having parking issues. Especially in Seattle, and most especially that crappy (low) parking structure next to Pike's market.
At least at Lloyd center in Portland I can just grab the CB antenna for the first height sign and be OK. In Seattle I pretty much have to remove the antenna to avoid damaging the thing.
