Well, I thought the definition of the word RELIGION from the source you cited which may have come from the root religaire--restrain, tie back--is just about accurate. There seems to be a lot of oppression, generally, mind control, and promises of goodies in the afterlife as the reward for subjugation right now inherent in Christianity. Maybe that is why the poorer and less educated people are, the more religious they tend to be.
When you say that the KKK and other groups like them can be classified as religious, as well, are you saying they can be classified as Christian, which they all claim to be?
I was under the impression that religious people at least believed that religion was a positive, good, healthy force. Is that true, or not? If so, it would seem impossible to say that the KKK and other white supremacists are Christians (unless you believe they are doing God's work). Are they? |
