This is precisely the sort of thing I just made reference to in my previous post. You are arguing that it was not necessary for the fires to actually melt through the steel, rather the steel only needed to weaken enough to cause the support bolts to sheer.

So if the towers collapsed from the sheer weight of the upper floors plus a mere weakening in the steel (not melting), please do explain how there can be pools of molten steel found at ground zero weeks later?

Please no cream donut analogies, ok?

So what? Steel undergoes considerable expansion at much lower temperatures than that. We design extensive pipe expansion allowances into hydronic piping systems that only get up to 160 degrees F. At 480 degrees, the joists would deform dramatically and would easily sheer bolts holding them in place.

You've made a choice to believe impossibly insane theories rather than believe that heated steel expands and can cause structural failure.
