The more I think about it, the less I like Bush's chances. But, as of now, I still think that he'll be President for another term.

I've changed my thinking a lot on the election- six months ago I was planning to vote for Bush in '04. It devolved into "I'll vote for Bush if no one better shows up on the Dem side", and now I'm likely voting Dem no matter what. And I'm not a staunch Dem; I voted for Pataki in '02.

You only have to spend a short time reading the stuff from the right on this thread to know that's the only way. There was this state legislator whigging out on tv a few weeks ago, taking off her blouse in her office and asking the sec. guard to search her for a knife to prove she had never pulled a knife on her employee. It was bizarre. Then it turns out three employees have quit on her in the past twelve months and other legislators have heard her screaming at her employees as they walk by her office.

I was amazed........it was so out of character for our state legislators. At the end, they reported she was from a Rep. district. That's all I needed to hear. <g>

In OR, there is this guy who has been blocking increases in spending by the state gov't or the raising of taxes by writing up these iniatiatives and getting them on the ballot. They pass with the barest of margins. In OR, its gone on for several years and now there is not enough money to keep the schools open in Portland past March. Thanks to the Bush recession, the state is incurring large deficits.

And its happening here in WA state, another guy is doing the same thing. Turns out both are Reps. These guys are one level above anarchists who can only bomb other countries, reduce taxes or reduce gov't. Their repetoire is limited but lethal.

Now you may understand why I want to give them TX. <g>
