RDV.TO Redcorp Ventures Ltd.: Another New High-grade Gold Vein Discovered at Hawk Property Friday October 4, 9:38 am ET
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--Redcorp Ventures Ltd. is pleased to report that a second new vein, carrying high-grade gold values, has been discovered on its 100% owned, 66-square-kilometre Hawk property, located in the Omineca mountains of north-central British Columbia. The newly discovered Rainbow vein lies 200 meters south of the Zulu vein, which was also discovered this year. The Rainbow vein is exposed over a strike length of 315 meters with samples up to 18.00 gpt gold and 39.00 gpt silver over 0.75 meters true width. The vein strikes north to northeast and dips shallowly to the east, representing a previously unrecognized mineralized structural trend. Initial sampling of the Rainbow vein returned the following results:
Sample Gold (gpt) Silver (gpt) Description TZR014 20.20 56.8 Grab BCR066 8.80 12.4 Grab BCR067 1.01 3.0 Grab BCR079 1.53 3.6 Chip over 15 cm BCR080 0.32 0.8 Chip over 8 cm BCR081 15.12 18.8 Chip over 30 cm BCR086 0.57 61.8 Chip over 33 cm BCR087 26.20 37.2 Chip over 10 cm BCR088 18.00 39.0 Chip over 75 cm
The Rainbow vein represents the fourth significant mineralized vein discovered on the Hawk property to date and will require additional work to evaluate its economic potential.
In addition to the known veins on the property, several mineralized showings were also discovered this year. These showings typically consist of quartz vein samples in areas of poor bedrock exposure, and further work is warranted to evaluate their significance. These samples range up to 30.6 gpt gold.
An initial diamond drill program was completed in late September and results will be released once final assays have been received by the Company. Twelve holes totalling 1,534 metres were drilled including 5 on the Radio veins, 2 on the AD vein and 5 on the Zulu vein. All holes were successful in intersecting the target veins, and visible gold was noted in two holes on the Zulu vein.
This press release was prepared by the undersigned on behalf of the Company's Board of Directors, who take responsibility for its content.
On Behalf Of The Board Of Directors Of Redcorp Ventures Ltd.
Terence Chandler, President
The exploration and drilling program at the Hawk property is under the direction of Robert Carmichael, PEng, Redcorp's vice-president, exploration. Reported sample assays are the results of standard fire assay methods conducted by Eco Tech Laboratory Ltd. of Kamloops, B.C., on samples collected by experienced field personnel under the supervision of Mr. Carmichael. Total metallic assays are being completed on all samples assaying in excess of 4 gpt gold.
