According to Barbara Mayo, director of Investor Relations (who returned my call just moments ago), the time taken off work was normal scheduled holidays -- there were no forced vacations. Had it been otherwise, compulsory company announcement would have been made. Other topics discussed -- SDLI/JDSU union is on track for completion by end of January. JDSU plant in China needed for, among other reasons, as source for optics technicians and engineers who are difficult to find in US. Great strides being made in productivity gains (1600%) in QA testing as disclosed in JDSU 'net site. Tulvio
