Ted, <Do you want mothers and children on welfare, or do you want them in the work place with the gov't paying their daycare bills and with the hope that one day, they will move up in salary and won't need any gov't support at all?>

Do you see where this slippery slope is going? Welfare was supposed to help poor people, including single mothers, get back on their feet so they won't need any government support at all. Now welfare is considered the trap, not the support program, so now you need another support program to help people avoid the original support program.

Excuse me but your comments are not news. That was the same complaints made re welfare back in the early 90s before Clinton took office. That's why Clinton worked with the States to place parameters around welfare and give incentives for people to get off. And many did.....it was amazing.

Unfortunately, the economy has worsened; the people hired in the 90s had the least amount of skills and made the least amount of money. They can't continue to pay the increasing cost of daycare. Its better for them to go on welfare........they'll be better off. That's reality!

However, you don't want to hear this.....you have an elitist perspective. You think everyone can do what you did......go to college and then make 50k-100k 5 years in the workplace. That isn't the case for roughly 80% of the people in this country. They will never make what you make after 5 years......ever in their lives.

Who's fault is it? I don't know.....theirs? The gov't? What I do know is that they're a problem......should we go out and shoot them? Another alternative is to have mothers and kids on the streets. Which do you want?

Thanks for proving my point to Z. No wonder government spending is out-of-control, even under a Republican administration.

Whatever point I proved needed to be proved!
