Aside from setting up a simple Mac/PC/modem network, I'd like to learn a little about networking options in general even though in the end I'll backpeddle to the most appropriate solution for my needs which are merely to connect 2 machines to the internet thru one ISP account.

My endproduct solution will no doubt be quite mundane compared to the kicks I get in becoming aware of whats out there and how you pros are thinking about the various network solutions available.

I was really interested in what functions Services for MAcintosh in NT Server provided until I found out NT Server cost was so high. But I still have interest in knowing. I did not realize the other apps you mentioned, which also provide these functions, also were so expensive until you pointed out the costs involved just now.

But at least I'm getting acquainted with the networking playground and, like I mentioned above, that's also part of my goal. Even if for now I will only actually use a few specks of whats available.

Sorry about causing any tension or confusion..... thats the last effect I would hope to produce here....... Thanks again.
