The newsies and the political hacks impress me in that they are trying to portray this as something new, something different, when this schtick is as old as civilization. Attractive - and sometimes not so attractive - women have always used sex to curry favor with rich, famous and powerful men, who can be useful to them. Of course, with the advent of women in similar situations of power and wealth, men have become more adept at the game. And the laws created to protect the innocent have often enabled the guilty.
