Check out the new ceramic polymer armor that the govt is using for the first time on soldiers in afghanistan.. I saw a segment on it, and it will stop ANY ROUND from any gun small enough for a human to carry, including those giant .50 calibre sniper rifles.

They also interviewed one soldier over there who had actually been shot by an ak-47 round and didn't realize it- he joked that he thought he felt a insect bite him but didn't pay any attention because he was in a firefight. :)

Of course, that kind of armor is totally illegal for civilians to own..

Horgad, Body armor is a problem and folks get very upset about "cop killer" bullets. It is funny, but 9 mm round points are despised by gun buffs because they have no stopping power. But gun armor mfrs. absolutely hate them, as armor that will stop a 44 mag barely slows the 9 mikey mike.
