Will - Re: " expect the merger to set things back at least six months to a year at HP/Compaq. " Why? When Compaq and DEC merged, Compaq NEVER RECOVERED. My guess is that the merged HP and Compaq could find themselves facing a continual downward spiral as their combined markets contract faster than they can get rid of personnel and divisions and product lines. They may turn gold into lead - King Midas in reverse. Paul
