Couldn't agree with you more Derek. Where do you live? Ia sk to see if there are other alternatives to Ultranet in the Portsmouth NH area. ISP's have to see themselves as more than line time resellers. Even the RBOC's don't want to string new wire and that is the promise of ADSL. Therefore the ISP's are going to have to step in the breach and lease the dry twisted pairs or watch the RBOC's take their business from them. There is also the chance that the cable companies will wake up and add this service for the satellite types are beginning to move that way. It might make an intersting business model to buy up bankrupt ISP's and create a national network of them- or invite the independents into some sort of national network much like the present RBOC and the old ATT sucked up all the little telco's 50years ago.
