Now that you've put it that way, concerning the chores that T has ahead of itself, WOW!, I'm not so sure that they'll be able to pull it off, and still be ahead of the pack.
Sure, Cable TV is part of the telecommunications pie, but it's not something that T has ever been exposed to before, at least not on this scale, save perhaps their old L carrier routes, but that was an entirely different ball game.
They're going to be dealing with some systems out there that are thirty years old, and most of them are still low capacity and one way, with no provisions in place to provide users with normal, much less standby, power for normal use and during power outages. Oy!
