DlphOrc- Of course there are now many more way to use chips, but there is a lot more companies producing gobs of chips too......If you have any data on supply (capacity)/demand (95 vs. now)...that may be more interesting that the argument that there are numerous new segments to sell chips..

Also, I doubt in 1995 or earlier periods, that the "irrational exhuberence" that we saw in 1999/2000 existed....sure, they got it wrong, way wrong in the past.....but nothing like this last turn.....

Weren't companies like Broadcom basically expecting 60-80% growth for many years? I doubt the PC chip suppliers expected that in 95'...
