No doubt, because Rockwell does not make a consumer branded product. They need to do something, because the consumer doesn't know Rockwell based modems from Adam. US Robotics, on the other hand, everyone knows.

In stock. Today. Available for Purchase Now.

To whom are they going to talk?

The Rockwell based ISPs won't pony up big bucks to upgrade their modem cards until there is a critical mass of compatible client modems. Consumers haven't been buying Rockwell based modems for months (check modem revenues at Zoom, Boca, and Diamond if you don't believe me) because the ISPs don't have 56kflex ports to accept the calls, and most say they won't upgrade until there is a final standard.

Sounds like a cat chasing its tail.
