that's where the huge logistics savings are...
dell and cpq both have it..cpq implemented the first major ELM in 1989. It cost me 1 million to buy it and the payback on the captial was about 1 qtr ...3 months and it paid back the 1 million.
now days you can buy ELMs for 25 to 100k and they are web-based.
you can even run your customers mrp/crp in 20 seconds. a process that when invented in 1961 took 48 hrs and that was Orlicky's net change version.
