worked in MS some in the early 80's if memory serves me we had most of or production in Simpson County. Oil Stocks always torture me, since I am strictly Options, timing is of the essence. Seems everytime I get the company right the oil market would torch me. The market is hard enough to time...economic data, bonds, the Fed, the politics, fundamentals, TA, sentiment, momentum money, etc. and then add on top of that a supply and demand situation in the oil market that can be dictated by some of the most irrational people in the history of the world. So picture all of the above and you take a position in an oil stock and some idiot in the middle east that thinks that Uncle Sam is the Great Satin(FOOL!! everyone knows it is Alan Greenspan) decides to jack his production up to the max to get more weapon money, this in turn leads to his enemy doing the same so it's deciples can blow themselves up in a truck bombing(FOOLS!!! they think that GOD will smile on them for their heroic Jihad, when in reality he is too busy running Bershire Hathaway) and these are the guys that can manipulate the price of my picks? Don't they know I might have a couple grand riding? Tough game to play, supply/demand should be easy to keep in near balance, but it is to easy to get knocked out of whack for me. That being said, I cast a greedy eye towards Haliburton and Schlumberger.
