The Trump administration has decided it cannot authorize new flood insurance policies, during Trump's partial shutdown of the federal government, which will prevent the sale of 40,000 homes each month according to the National Association of Realtors. - reuters.com

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which oversees a federal program that insures about 5 million homes and businesses, on Wednesday posted a notice on its website that the program will not be able to “issue new contracts for flood insurance until the Trump administration decides otherwise.

"America has a pretty nice economy here. It sure would be unfortunate for you mooks if something bad were to happen to it," said administration spokesman Donny Knuckles.
