By that logic, AMD could have said that Hammer would account for more than 1% of sales in 2004, and still be technically correct. It's not enough, IMO, to say that "more than 50% of sales" can mean anything from 50% to 100%. Since the context of the quote was bravado, I don't see why they would aim conservatively.

They very well may get 80% of sales by mid-2004, but from the sound of the quote, it seemed like they were predicting little more than 50% by late-2004. At any rate, it's silly to scrutinize a single quote so much. I just thought it was interesting to note a mention of conservatism amongst the hype.
