American Greetings: 93 years of consecutive revenue growth and a forward 12 month p/e of 12.4 (based upon management's recent 30% slashing of previous street estimates). See: fnews.yahoo.com and, quicken.com Veteran Value Investor Scott Black of Kobran Delphi Management likes it at this level (he's been making money going in and out of the stock for the past 20 years -- see Barron's, 5/10/99, p. F3). Problem: Will greeting card industry (a slow grower at all events, and not as exportable as soda pop, burgers and razors) be stymied by free online greeting cards the way the check printing business has been hurt by electronic transfers?
