O.T. - sunny, yes Briefing seems to have a very balanced view of COMS, and I have come to the same conclusion re the next couple of quarters re COMS, mainly due to INTC and other heavy competition. Also in Friday's IBD article re Intel it says, "Due to price cutting, the overall worldwide network-card market is expected to be static at about $4 billion for this year, says IDC. However, the 10/100 Fast Ethernet card market is expected to grow from 18% of the market in '96 to more than 60% by 2000, says Dataquest."
The longer term (2-5 years): I suppose COMS is as good a company as any to have your money in. But I'm not too excited at all about having my money lie practically dormant while COMS slugs it out with INTC, while at the same time competing with Bay Networks, Cabletron, Cisco, and IBM.
I do think Briefing should carry a more balanced view of Ascend.
