Only a matter of patience.
It often takes longer than you originally hope/anticipate for the uptrend to materialize.

A lot of people end up throwing in the towel right before it starts to really move, or alternatively, cut their wins far too short by bailing out in relief after a few points.

These are both amateur mistakes. But until you have them happen a few times and feel the pain, they are not easy to avoid and go against human nature.

The positive aspect about BKS in today's market stems from its relatively low volatility, and (I am careful here to not use 'never') concerns about margin difficulties and other short-term uncertainties pose less of a risk.

Remember, BKS owns a substantial portion of barnesandnoble.com (BNBN) and will benefit from the positive developments there, such as the new trends in electronic books.
