Vic, I'm no expert, but from what I have heard in recent years, the service department is where dealers make a lot of their money...they can sell the car only once, but chances are they'll see the car more than a few times over the next several years in the service dept (and they get paid for warranty work at the same rate). I would think that if a device like MRPS can uncover MORE problems and allow the mechanic to save time diagnosing the problems, it would increase the service dept's volume and efficiency (they charge a flat rate by the book for a given job whether it takes more or less time than the book calls for, after all).
