Eric: "AFTER THE FACT"................. Some years ago - over 35 in fact - when I had just gotten my NYSE ticket and was assigned to a branch office (in this case, Pasadena, CA)...I learned something that fits in this context: I needed a quote on an o-t-c stock and had the girl on the PBX call trading in L.A. After a bit, it came back thusly: XYZ Corp. 20 - 22 WO...I quickly asked one of the other brokers what WO meant. Says he, WO means "work out" (no current firm bid or asked)...BUT he continued, it REALLY MEANS - "WE'RE OUT - HOW 'BOUT YOU?" Best, Don
